What’s required?
IVMS — vehicle and driving behaviour
Largely about speed monitoring and driving behaviour visibility.
DMS — driver fatigue and distraction
Less tightly specified across sites than the IVMS side. A standalone fatigue monitor is generally sufficient.
Requirements can vary between BHP sites — confirm your specific site’s requirement with your BHP contact.

Bolt2 — IVMS / speed monitoring
OBD plug-in, self-install, no wiring. Speeding is determined server-side — GPS position compared against the rated road speed — so this needs an active platform subscription. Has no speaker, so it reports back to your team rather than alerting the driver directly.
Middle option
DFM-HV Pro / ProX
Configurable alerts, onboard SD card video, seat vibrator trigger, and telematics alerts to your existing Bolt2 (or any other GPS tracker) — a good option if DFM-60 is a bit basic for your fleet but you don’t need a full connected dashcam.

DFM-60 — standalone driver fatigue monitor
Adds speed monitoring and rest-break reporting back to your team, OBD plug-in. No speaker — pairs with DFM-60 if you need both the in-cab nag and the back-office visibility
If your site needs more — GB245 or the VT3600AI stack cover both IVMS and DMS in a single connected device. GB245 covers the IVMS and general DFDM requirement, but doesn’t currently meet through-sunglasses detection — pending either the new MiTAC aux camera (expected September 2026) or DFM-60 integration (in development). If your site specifically requires through-sunglasses detection, the VT3600AI stack with C29N is compliant today.

Do I need a connected/subscribed device to meet BHP’s requirement?
The fatigue monitoring side (DFM-60) doesn’t need a subscription. The speed/IVMS side does — Bolt2’s speed alerts are generated server-side by comparing your GPS position against the rated road speed, so that part requires an active platform subscription.
